Scholarships: Fund Your Future Scholarship & Kent County Fund Your Future Scholarship
Note: These scholarships are for students pursuing studies and/or careers in mathematics or math-based sciences. Examples include math education, engineering, accounting, actuary sciences, finance, and data science. Example of pursuits that won't be considered include pre-medical, pre-law, and business degrees.
Eligibility requirements: High school seniors who will be pursuing a college degree in mathematics or a mathematics-related field are eligible to apply. Kent County Fund Your Future scholarship applicants must be residents of Kent County, Michigan. Preference will be given to low-income and/or racial and ethnic minority students.
Scholarship amount: $2,000+
Scholarship: Paul Myers Scholarship for Data Science (Spring Only)
Note: This scholarship is for students pursuing studies and/or careers in data science. Other pursuits will not be considered. Examples of possible careers include data scientist, data architect, data engineer, data analyst, statistician, and machine learning scientist.
Eligibility requirements: High school seniors who will be pursuing a college degree or training in data science are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to low-income and/or racial and ethnic minority students.
Scholarship amount: $4,000
Deadline and award date for all scholarships: April 11, 2025. Applicants will be notified of decisions by May 1, 2025.

2. Please describe your future plans for college and beyond. What impact do you hope to have on your community or the world at large? Be sure to include any connections to mathematics or math-related content and careers.
3. Please explain how being awarded this scholarship will help you achieve your future plans. Be as specific as possible.

Eligibility requirements: Applicants must be currently supporting elementary or secondary students. Preference will be given to those who serve low-income or racial and ethnic minority students.
Note: Certain grant funds are available specifically for teachers in Kent County, Michigan. Applicants will be asked to indicate eligibility for these funds.
Deadline and award date: April 11, 2025. Applicants will be notified of decisions by May 1, 2025.

3. Please estimate the cost of the professional development or classroom resources and what your funding gap currently is. Be sure to estimate travel costs, if applicable, substitute teacher costs, if applicable, etc.
4 Please estimate the number of students who would be impacted if awarded this grant. Also, please estimate the demographic make-up (i.e. gender, race, and socioeconomic status) of the students who would be impacted by this grant.
